Echo Factor
Listening to someone is harder than it really sounds. We let the person talk, and then wait for the perfect moment to say “Oh, I know what you mean, I remember —[continues with a long story about themselves].” No. You really don’t know what I mean. Because if you knew what I meant, you would have just sat there and let me express how I feel. I guess we just have a tendency to redirect the attention upon ourselves. It’s okay to let someone else get the attention for a while.
